Discover the luminescence of painting in oil and cold wax, get an encaustic look without blow torches and mess. Like painting with frosting, this sensuous medium with win you over with its beauty and depth of color. Paint an expressionist landscape or abstract work on up to 8 pieces during this exciting class. Work on board and paper with wax, oil paint, palette knives and squeegee, adding textures and collage, scribbling and digging like an archeologist with paint.
Experience level: No experience necessary.
Fee: $100 for ASA members and $115.00 for non-members. Plan to pay with cash or check at the beginning of class. Plus Material fee $20.

Materials provided by the instructor: Cold wax, oils paint, mediums, variety of palette knives, paper towels, extra boards and papers, texturing tools, oil pastels, graphite, pigments, acrylic for underpainting, stencils and stamps. Detailed instructional materials.
Materials the student should provide:
- Basic oil paint colors (red, blue, yellow, black, white)
- Small container of Gamblin cold wax
- Palette knives
- 4 cradled boards (gessoed) any size or arches oil paper
- Paint brush for underpainting
