Date(s) - 07/08/2017 - 07/09/2017
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
This is a two day workshop. Plan to attend both days.
Saturday and Sunday, July 8-9 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pets, neighbor dogs, birds, insects, reptiles, your friends … any category of animal you want to illustrate can be improved with a deeper understanding of art skills. Rendering form, using light andshadow, and working with elements of color theory will make your image come to life. I love illustrating animals – mammals, birds and insects are my favorites, and I enjoy sharing my techniques with others. This workshop will include working with shapes and volume, thinking about underlying anatomy, and considering compositional elements. Weather permitting, we’ll venture outside to practice rendering quick gestural drawings of birds and any other animals should they appear in the nearby area. You can come to class with a project in mind, bring a lot of reference photos; or you can start from scratch – I’ll have a bunch of reference photos for you to pick from.
Materials provided by students: Bring your drawing supplies, pencils and/or pens, erasers, sharpener, etc.and watercolors and/or colored pencils.
