NOTES: 

 

The subject for the upcoming Guided Open Studio on December 6,  1 pm to 4 pm will be Winter Birds in Winter Trees.  Students should bring their own supplies; the medium is up to you.  Brush up your techniques in a fun, supportive environment.

Artist Estate Sale

There will be an artist estate sale this Friday 11/30, Saturday 12/1, and Sunday 12/2 the hours on all days will be 10 am to 5 pm.  There will be various types of artist supplies for sale including frames.  The house is on West Devils Lake Rd just North of Regatta Park about 1/8 mile, turn left up the hill.  The address is 1803 NE Tide Avenue in Lincoln City

ASA Christmas Party and gift exchange 3 to 5 pm Sunday, December 9th.  Spouses are invited!  Please bring a fun, art related gift for exchange, dollar value should be under $20.  Bring appetizers to share.

Congratulations to Catherine Hingson, Sharon Cook, and Susanne Tsang who have been accepted as Active Members of the Watercolor Society of Oregon, a juried position.  Are there other members of the Watercolor Society at the ASA?  Catherine would like to start a group of members to get together occasionally for networking and sharing of ideas.  If you are a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and would be interested in meeting other local Society members contact Catherine Hingson at playfulplaintbrush@gmail.com

January April June September October were the best months for sales.  The worst month was November.

Facility  

 

 

A broken piece of down spout has been fixed and the furnace filter and back parking lot cleaned by Tony Hugeback.  Thank you Tony!

Bill Cary contacted the electrician regarding the lighting problem in the ASA classroom. Repair is on the electrician’s schedule.

Gallery Hosting  Report / Schedule We need hosts to sign up for Beachstone Gallery duties on weekends and other high traffic days when there are no classes in session.  Hours to be in the gallery will be roughly 10 to 1 pm or so.  Hosts are encouraged to bring in one of their art projects to work on while there.  They should also feel free to come with another ASA member or two if that will make them feel more comfortable.  Julie Kennedy signed up for December 2nd, Dahn Haven volunteered to come in with her and will sign up for solo hosting when she is more familiar with what is involved.

Marilyn will send a note out to members asking for more volunteers.

Art sale – recap

 

Christmas Bazaar weekend Nice art but very low attendance.  May want to do only one day next year and have planned further in advance so more notice can be given and advertising done.

Teach Watercolor at Little Whale Cove Catherine Hingson Little Whale Cove is looking for watercolor instructors.   Dawn Harden is arranging for teachers at their clubhouse.  Negotiating teaching pay will be up to you, but they’re thinking it will be about 2 hours per month paying $100 for 4 months of work (8 hours total).  You would be teaching a class of about 10 people.  Great opportunity for someone who wants to practice teaching.

Featured Artist Mark Adock Mark Adcock will be the featured artist for December.  His media is watercolor.

JoAnn is looking for artists who are interested in being a Featured Artist.  Put your request through the slot in the door in the ASA Classroom or email JoAnn at jballa1949@aol.com .  This is a great opportunity for free advertising

Grant awarded Krista Eddy Was selected as a grant recipient for her children’s art classes

She will let us know how much she received in a week or so.
