ASA Update June 10, 2019

Richard Laycock would like to welcome all his ASA friends to his show People, Places, Pastel & Pencil this coming Friday June 14th at the Chessman Gallery in the Lincoln City Cultural Center from 5 to 7pm.

Richard paints/draws vignettes with pastel on paper, in the ever-changing conditions of western Oregon, which are strikingly similar to the Yorkshire countryside of his English youth. It is the beautiful farmland and forest, bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Range as well as people and animals that captures his attention.

Join us for a glass of wine and complimentary nibbles at this opening reception: 5-7 pm on Friday, June 14.

The exhibit will remain on display through Monday, July 8, open 9 am to 5 pm Thursday-Monday.

The subject for Guided Open Studio this Thursday, June 13th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM will be a little different this time around.  We are using photos of beach cliffs to inspire abstract paintings. There will be lots of photo references available in the ASA classroom. Arlon Gilliland will offer guidance and help with techniques.  There is never a fee, but donations are appreciated.  Please plan on bringing in your own supplies.
