Member Show ReceptionPlease come and bring your friends to the wine and cheese reception on Sunday, June 30 from 1 – 3 PM.  Enjoy the fabulous variety of work submitted by ASA members and see the prize winners.
Gallery HostingOn weekends, when no class is scheduled, members are encouraged to spend a few hours in the classroom, working on your art and greeting visitors.  It can be great fun to meet travels and locals and tell them about ASA.  There is a signup calendar in the kitchen.
Door to the Co-opThe board has decided to replace the double doors to the gallery with doors which have glass.  This way we can close the doors during classes but visitors can still see in and enter quietly.  Steve has been working on a vendor for that project.
New WebsiteRuth and Marilyn have started working on the new website.  When it is ready, members will be able to sign in and have access to member only areas.  For instance, we might post the judge’s comments where only members can see them.  We will also be able to sign up for classes and pay in advance.  This will work so much better for instructors who have struggled with no-shows and last minute cancelations.
Gallery CoordinatorJoAnn is stepping down from her duty as gallery coordinator.  She will remain on the ASA board.  We are seeking a new coordinator.  The group of volunteers who help with the hanging are experienced and helpful.  A new coordinator will have lots of support.  JoAnn has also created documents which describe the process and timing.  Please call JoAnn or one of the board members if you would like try this exciting role.
Nestucca Valley Artisans August 24 & 25 the NVA group will have a show at the Cape Kiwanda Community center.  ASA has been asked to staff the raffle ticket sales table during the two days.  We will plan for two shifts per day.  If you can volunteer a few hours that weekend please contact Arlon.
