ASA Update August 13, 2019

The subject for Guided Open Studio this Thursday, August 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM will be weeds and grasses.  Arlon Gilliland will offer guidance and help with techniques as well as lots of photo references.  There is never a fee, but donations are appreciated.  Please plan on bringing in your own supplies.

There is still time to enroll in our Local Lighthouses watercolor class on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Catherine Hingson will demonstrate step by step the techniques and skills to create one of our local lighthouses.  Working wet on wet, saving the white and creating a focal point, are some of the skills we will practice.   Students will practice basic watercolor techniques as they learn to paint our local lighthouses!  Click here to be taken to the class web page to see the full description and the opportunity to enroll online.

Don’t miss the Nestucca Valley Artisans Festival, Saturday and Sunday August 24th and  25th from 10-5.  An amazing group of artists will be showing their work.  It is well worth the trip up there to see what is on display.  There will be door prizes as well as a raffle.  If you’d like to help man the raffle booth in the morning on either Saturday or Sunday, please contact Arlon Gilliland at wolfnbear@charter.net.
